Fulltext Search in Mysql - Match Against

Teman teman menggunakan Apache + PHP + MySQL untuk membuat sebuah website? Kepikiran untuk membangun search engine sendiri?

Tidak usah susah susah, karena MySQL sendiri sudah menyediakan fungsi untuk melakukan hal itu. Namanya adalah Fulltext Search dengan Match Against.

Berikut adalah langkah langkahnya

1. Buat database dengan fulltext indexing.

mysql> CREATE TABLE articles (
-> id INT UNSIGNED AUTO_INCREMENT NOT NULL PRIMARY KEY,
-> title VARCHAR(200),
-> body TEXT,
-> FULLTEXT (title,body)
-> );

2. Implementasi Fulltext Search dapat dilakukan dengan 2 modifikasi yaitu tipe Boolean dan tipe  Query Expansion disamping tipe standart.

a. Tipe Standar

Pada tipe c ini, pencarian akan dilakukan 2 kali dengan mempelajari search result yang sebelumnya dan kemudian menghasilakan result yang paling relevan.
